Rules

  1. Registration for the series is included in the $20 annual membership to the Upper Midwest Trail Runners.
  2. Runners must be registered in MNTRS before any points can be awarded. Only races run after registration will be counted in point total.
  3. Series points are determined by taking the winning series runner's time, dividing by each runner's time and multiplying by 100. For races with multiple distances, points are calculated for the designated distance. Runners who opt for an alternate distance will receive 25 points.
  4. Runners can earn 50 points for volunteering in any one 2009 MNTRS or Fab 5 Fifties race. Runners can use the 50 volunteer points as one of the six top scores. The volunteer points don't count as a seventh score. Runners who want volunteer points must notify the MNTRS coordinator within one month of volunteering.
  5. Age classes for men and women are 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and above. Top runners in each age class earn awards. A runner's age at the time of the first race determines his or her age class.
  6. Each race is under the control of its own race director. Runners must register for each race individually. Disqualification from any series race is disqualification from the entire series.
  7. Standings for the series will be posted on this page. Please promptly notify the MNTRS scoring coordinator at  runjeffrun50k@yahoo.com if scores are not accurate.
  8. Runners who complete every race in the MNTRS will receive special recognition.
  9. All runners who register for the 2009 series will be entered in a drawing for a pair of Vasque trail shoes. We'll draw the winner's name at the end of the season.

Registration
The MN Trail Run Series is part of the Upper Midwest Trail Runners club. A $20 annual UMTR membership includes registration in both the MN Trail Run Series and an ultra race series.
