Rules

  1. Membership in UMTR is required for registration in the UMTR all-distance and 5K trail series. Each race has its own registration and fees. Entry in the series does not guarantee entry into any race.

  2. Only races run after registering for the series will be counted in the series point total.

  3. Points for each race is determined as follows:  Each race will take the number of series participants and divide that number into 100 to determine points per place. Example, ten register series in one race, 100 divided by 10 equals 10. First place will get 100, 2nd 90, 3rd 80 and so on till the last person which then will get 10 points. Point system will be used per age group.

  4. The age classes for men and women will be: 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and above.

  5. Standings for the series will be posted here. Please contact the series director if there are questions about scoring.

  6. In the MN Trail series the best 10 races will count for your total. In the 5k series the best 6 will count.

  7. Volunteering at a UMTR race will earn you 100 points. It is the runners’ responsibility to inform Jeff Allen that any Volunteering took place.

  8. In the case of a tie, the tie breaker will be determined by volunteering points, after that, there would be a race off at the UMTR banquet which the runners will have to run 100 yards with a wheelbarrow carrying either Larry Perdson or Donny Clark.

Registration
The MN Trail Run Series is part of the Upper Midwest Trail Runners club. A $20 annual UMTR membership includes registration in both the MN Trail Run Series and an ultra race series.
